Cleveland Wirecloth manufactures wire cloth from various metals and alloys, depending on our customers’ specific needs. We use only the finest quality weaving wire, made by select, proven suppliers, to ensure a consistent, high-quality finished product.
Before beginning the weaving process, raw materials are checked for consistent tensile, accurate gauge dimensions, and proper chemical makeup. During the weaving process, wire tension, opening size, and mesh count are continually checked for consistency and adherence to specifications.
Stainless steel is used in wire mesh where both the properties of steel and resistance to staining and corrosion (by adding chromium, nickel, and other metals) are required. The amounts of carbon, chromium, nickel, and other metals affect other characteristics, including corrosion resistance and ease of welding and forming.
Austenitic stainless steels have high ductility, low yield stress, and relatively high ultimate tensile strength compared to typical carbon steel.
