UNS S41000

410 SS is the general purpose hardenable, corrosion and heat resisting steel. It readily responds to hardening and tempering operations between 1100-1350°F. With different heat treatments this steel develops excellent combinations of strength and toughness over a wide range of mechanical properties. 410 SS is resistant to dry atmospheres, fresh water corrosion, and a variety of mild acids and alkaline. It is a common choice for severe forming and cold heading operations, particularly if heat treating of the part is desirable. Type 410 is magnetic in all conditions. 410 SS has a wide variety of uses due to its good mechanical properties.
